"Good," Wesley said. Spike's eyes were very blue in this light. With the music playing loudly in the background, Wesley added, "I love you."

"There's nothing wrong with knowing you well enough to have a good idea about what you're going to do," Spike said. The thought was comforting, really; he doubted that Wesley would ever stop surprising him completely, but what it meant to be that used to each other was very appealing.

Nodding slightly, Wesley said, "I know. There's something nice about it, actually. But I hope I never become completely predictable."

"I'm not worried," Spike assured him, taking advantage of the opportunity to study Wesley's face as much as he wanted without him looking back. "Though maybe I should be about boring you. In another day or two, you'll have figured me out completely."

Wesley rather liked that idea. "Would that be a terrible thing? Because I can try not to." Not that he thought he'd succeed, but he could try.
