"Neither do I," Wesley said, although he thought he might have a vague memory of it. He moved over closer to Spike, looking at the options. "I like the red. But don't wear anything you hate. You wouldn't, would you?"

"Not without good reason." Spike pulled out a pair of black jeans, a black t-shirt, and the red silk shirt Wesley had mentioned.

Wesley's gaze had settled on some of the books they'd been using -- had it only been the day before? -- and he reached for one of the shirts that was meant to be his, ripping off the tags before sliding it on. "I should read that spell again."

"Didn't you want breakfast?" Spike asked, pulling the tags off of his jeans. He slid into them, the new denim scratchy and stiff against his skin, and fastened the fly before turning his attention to his shirts.

"What? Oh... right," Wesley said sheepishly. As a compromise, he picked up the book he thought contained the spell they'd found so that he could take it with him into the kitchen. "Would you like some coffee?"

And I've lost him already, Spike thought with mild amusement. He pulled his t-shirt over his head and tucked it in his waistband as he said, "No, thanks." He searched through the bags again. "Didn't I buy a belt?"

"I think so?" Wesley said, starting for the kitchen.

"I could've sworn... There," Spike muttered, finding the curled up belt in the bottom of one of the bags. Threading it through his belt loops and shrugging on the other shirt, he felt much like his old self, even though those particular garments were new. He glanced around at the bags with some satisfaction, glad to have more to his name than just a few sets of clothes, before following Wesley into the kitchen. He was curious to see whether he had actually gotten the coffee started before he got caught up in his book.

Having measured the coffee grounds, Wesley was standing at the sink with the filling glass carafe under the tap in one hand and the book in the other, reading with only half an eye on the water level in the carafe.

"Do you need me to do that for you?" Spike asked, watching Wesley with a small, fond smile.

"No, I think I can manage," Wesley said, glancing up from the book at Spike and then turning his attention toward the carafe. He had to tuck the book under his arm to turn off the tap. As he stepped over to add the water to the coffee machine, he looked at Spike more carefully. "You do look nice in red."
