"Mmm. I know the feeling. Both of them." Spike stroked the fingers of one hand gently through Wesley's hair and down the back of his neck, more thankful than he could express that Wesley seemed to want to be close as much as he did, himself.

"God, you're so incredible," Wesley murmured between deeper kisses. As he became aware of his heavier frame on top of Spike's, he shifted some of his weight, which resulted in their lower bodies rubbing together again.

Spike's body began to reawaken at Wesley's movements, and his kisses became more intense as the first tiny thrills of arousal skittered through him. "You're the incredible one," he said against Wesley's lips. "So passionate about your work... and other things. So smart. So gorgeous. So bloody responsive." He slid his hand into Wesley's hair and kissed him harder. "Never would've guessed when I first saw you how much heat you were hiding."

"What did you think? When you first saw me?" Wesley asked, genuinely curious even though he imagined he could guess quite accurately. He traced Spike's bottom lip with his tongue.

Spike gave Wesley a quick kiss while he tried to come up with a way to discuss the subject that wouldn't be horribly rude. He settled for being vague about his conclusions. "Let's put it this way, pet: you were close to Angel, an ex-Watcher, treating me like a lab specimen, and suggesting ways to get rid of me for good. Didn't exactly make me think we'd get on." Spike stroked Wesley's back and offered an apologetic grin. "I know you better now, but you still surprised me with how big your heart is. You're good at hiding it."

Good at hiding other things as well, apparently, Wesley thought, as he dropped his gaze and shifted his weight to one side so that he could trace a fingertip across Spike's chest. "I'd like you to be happy as well," he said, going back to their previous conversation. "If there are things that you need... or want..."

"My needs are pretty simple," Spike said. "I want you, and I want to be able to buy my own blood. I'll worry about the rest later."

"I'll worry about them too," Wesley said. "If it irritates you, I'll try not to mention it, but... I'm not sure it's the sort of thing I could just stop."

"It doesn't irritate me that you care," Spike said quietly. "It goes both ways, you know."

Wesley felt an unusually sweet, genuine smile spread across his face at the admission and slid his hand slowly down along Spike's body. "I do care, a great deal. You're... you've become very important to me."

Spike couldn't help but return Wesley's smile with a delighted one of his own. "That goes both ways, too, pet," he said, cupping Wesley's cheek and brushing his thumb across the soft skin over Wesley's cheekbone.
