Pleased that he had indeed made the right choice for Wesley, Spike only cleared his throat instead of piping up that it would make him feel better.

Angel glanced over at him, his glare already forming.

"Don't look at me like that," Spike said. "I stopped him before, didn't I? I knew he wouldn't be happy about it."

"That was very thoughtful of you." The tone of Angel's voice made it clear that he was still suspicious of the action.

"I'm a thoughtful fellow," Spike replied easily.
